What types of roofs can Sunflare modules be installed on?
PowerFit20 is designed to be installed on metal standing seams roofs that are at least 15.5” wide measured on center between the seams, and that are flat with no large ribbing in the channels. No roof penetrations or ballasts needed.
Flex60 is designed for Flat (2% slope or less) membrane roofs (TPO, or EPDM).Low crickets are no problem. Installation of Flex60 on greater curves or slopes may be possible if the roof stack is Class A fire rated. No roof penetrations or ballasts needed.
LiteMount is designed for installation on corrugated metal roofs and standing seam roofs that do not qualify for PowerFit (too narrow or has ribs). The lightweight aluminum frame is bolted directly to the seams or ridges with standard S-5! Clamps. LiteMount60 is the perfect solution for weight-constrained roofs such as older buildings and barns with metal roofing.

How much do the modules cost?
Please contact your local installer to obtain a turnkey proposal cost with Sunflare modules plus the additional electrical components, labor, permitting etc. Solar modules are just one piece of the system- so it’s best to speak to an installer who can discuss all aspects of the equipment and installation.
Can I install the modules myself then have the electrician come do the rest?
Sunflare recommends that a licensed solar installer or electrician oversee all aspects of the installation.
The PowerFit product is currently only available for residential and commercial use.
Can I install any of the Sunflare modules on the side of a building?
This is currently not possible as the adhesive used is not meant for vertical applications.
Can PowerFit20 be installed on my domed standing seam roof?
Although the module curves up to 30%, we are currently investigating how much curvature can be allowed for the PF20 wire management system.
Can I use Sunflare with a battery in an off-grid system?
Yes, any of Sunflare’s modules can be used with a battery system and can be either grid-tied or off-grid.
Will the adhesive damage my roof surface or void the roof warranty?
No but customers should consult the roof manufacturer.
Can the modules withstand hurricane force winds and hail?
PowerFit has an uplift of 110 lbs/sq.ft. We are in the process of completing wind testing for Miami-Dade County (the most stringent in the US).
Flex60 has an uplift of 110 lbs/sq.ft. and an Impact Resistance rating of 25mm (1 in diameter hail at 52 mph (23m/s).

What is the color of the modules?
Below are pictures of a PowerFit module in natural light as well as a Pantone swatch. Will the adhesive ooze out from under the module in the heat?
Are these modules trimmable?
Do you sell direct to consumers?
No. Solar installers and electricians can order Sunflare products through their local CED Greentech electrical supplier.
Can I max out my roof (oversize the system) for NEM benefits?
Utility companies have different rules for how much you are allowed to oversize your solar system. Some will only allow a system size equal to your last 12 months of consumption history. Check with your local utility or solar installer for details. An additional concern would be the limits of your existing electric service panel for an over-sized solar system. Your installer will be able to evaluate your home’s electrical capabilities.
How much money do I get from the utility for exporting solar energy to the grid?
Every utility territory has different rules for self-generators (homes and businesses with solar). Net Energy Metering (NEM) export compensation for excess energy produced and exported to the grid is typically reflected as monthly credits against the times you used electricity but the sun wasn’t shining (your modules were not producing). Check with your local utility for the details.
How do I get the ITC??
The Investment Tax Credit is currently available for solar installations and can be carried over 5 years. Sunflare Solar cannot provide tax advice. Please consult with your CPA or tax advisor.
How do I apply for an agricultural grant for solar (REAP)?
It’s best to find a local installer who has experience with applying for this Federal Program. Here is the link for more information
There is no need for any special certification. Any licensed solar installer or electrician can install our products. Sunflare modules are easy to install, and use standard electrical components and wiring procedures. We have resources available to installers such as manuals, videos, and personalized support though Zoom calls.
Do you offer discounts on volume purchases?
Volume discounts begin at the container level- roughly 2,000 modules depending on the SKU. SKUs may be mixed.
Where is the Sunflare distributor near me?
Please contact your local Greentech CED. They are the distributor of Sunflare products for residential and commercial applications.
Can I use a different RSD component than the recommended AP Smart component referenced in the PowerFit install manual?
Yes, but we recommend them due to their small size and low cost. The AP Smart components come with clips and easily fit under a standing seam roof ridge cap, although they can be exposed to open air. You need one per 6 PowerFit modules.
For PowerFit what if the standing seam roof section does not have a ridge cap? Where will the cables and RSD devices go?
For new construction, a plan with the General Contractor for housing the cables and RSD devices along wall flashing or other space can be determined. UV resistant PVC wire management conduit and raceways can be used for housing components and painted to match the roof. For existing standing seam roofs, UV resistant PVC can be used as housing at the top or in an inconspicuous place.
Please follow this link to see renderings of suggestions for alternative wire management solutions where there is no ridgecap available.
For PowerFit, are there any limitations on how many panels can be run in parallel in each flat area of a standing seam panel?
No, but there is a limit of 6 PowerFit modules per RSD. Please consult the Sunflare Installation Manual for more details.
Do you have any wiring schematics showing your typical installation, in detail?
The wiring diagram in the PowerFit Installation Manual should be enough of an example for any electrical or solar installer to understand the wiring of this system.
The PowerFit Installation Manual lists a 7.5’ cable as a required component. Where can I order these?
To order pre-made 7.5’ or 12’ cables please contact Staubli directly for a quote:
